For STAM’s latest exhibition Buitenspel : Football in the City, Audiotheque created an immersive sound installation for the expo entrance hall, setting the tone for the journey inside.

Blending field recordings with studio-crafted layers, we aimed to recreate the electrifying audio experience of being in a stadium right before kick-off. We recorded the original AA Gent chants and played with left/right placement to mimic the dynamic call-and-response between the two stands.

Kids parcours

We also recorded and produced the “listening shoes”: a playful audio guide for children that brings the exhibition to life through storytelling, voices, and sound. Buitenspel explores how football shapes the city and its people, from the pitch to the playground, and from local clubs to street culture.
