To celebrate the launch of the fifth and final season of Stranger Things, Netflix welcomed some of Germany’s biggest fans and VIPs to the former Tempelhof Airport, where the Ghent-based creative agency Paloma constructed a mini version of Hawkins surrounded by its eerie counterpart the Upside Down. Guests could enjoy one last bike ride through the iconic town as a tribute to the series’ legacy.
At the center of the experience was Squawk Radio, a key element in the new season and the place where our team got to work its magic. We produced the 80s radio show features:
Three in-universe radio ads for its iconic locations and products: Starcourt Mall, Scoops Ahoy, and Surfer Boy Pizza.
Custom station jingles that brought Squawk Radio to life.
Hourly news and weather reports, pulling visitors straight into the storyline of the series.
And of course, a touch of Upside Down woven through the on-site sound design.
